The key to your internet marketing success is to select a good reliable affiliate program and to put to work your best marketing techniques in promoting or selling the products and services to your sites traffic.

If you are starting with a blank slate try to join affiliate programs that market something you have an interest in. It is always easier to build a website that surfers will enjoy and return to when you base it on a topic you have a passion for.

The Quality of the products and services you promote.
As an online marketer your main goal is to promote the product so your visitors will buy it. If the potential customer is not convinced when they arrive at the merchants’ site, they won’t buy and you don’t earn.
Always make sure the products you are endorsing are worthwhile and of high quality and good value.
Ask yourself: if you were the customer, would you buy it?
Would you in your personal life recommend it to family or to a close friend?
If you can’t convince yourself or your family and friends to buy it, then you wont stand a chance in getting the strangers who visit your website too either. You don't ever want to con your visitor - if you do you will never earn their trust again.

Take the time to look into their sales data. Although the actual success of the program really does depend on you mostly, these stats inform you of the products’ sales success.
I would much rather promote a product that has a demand rather than one that only 1/2000 visitors buy.

Take a look at the company’s payment plan and compare with other affiliate programs selling similar items, why sign up for a program that only pays $5 per sale when the industry standard is $50 after all your purpose for joining the program is to earn, so make sure you’ll be paid for all your efforts fairly.

Tools
Unless you are skilled at creating banners, graphics and articles, try to choose affiliate programs that help you create these or provide them free for your web site.
A lot of great business bend over backwards to make it easy for you to sell (after all it makes you both money) so don’t bother with programs that leave all the hard work up to you - after all, affiliate marketing is a partnership, so make sure your partner offers support.

Unfortunately, there is no “best affiliate marketing program.,” One program might make one affiliate marketer a millionaire almost over night and the other a frustrated marketer, as his visitors, despite the best coaxing wont buy. So to put it simply, any affiliate marketing program can be a success to one webmaster and a failure to another but with the tips I just gave you, you should be able to select the one that is best for you!
